Welcome to Growing Up!

Sometimes it is so fun to go on u tube and re-live your childhood!  I was born in 1957, when black and white TV was just introduced.  From the first Ed Sullivan Show staring the Beatles, to Space Angel on Captain Kangaroo, Saturday morning cartoons that were only on until noon!

We didn't have cable TV, but only 3 channels, ABC, NBC and CBS!

I just enjoyed walking down memory lane by watching these!  I hope you  will enjoy them as much as I did!

The Lone Ranger

My first inkling that I wanted a horse!

Who didn't love Timmy? Everyone wanted a dog like Lassie!

Captain Kangaroo

My favorite to watch each morning before I went to school!

Soupy Sales

Dobie Gillis
Do you remember the beginning where the "Thinker" was on?

I think I was too young to truly enjoy the humor of this show!

Art Linkletter

Oh, how he worked with them!

Ed Sullivan having the Beatles on the TV.  Remember how we thought their hair was so long?

Ed Sullivan also had the adorable Topo Gigio on his show.  I just loved this puppet!!

Red Skelton, never knew why they called him Red.  I assume it was because of his hair.  But hard to tell on a black and white TV!

The Honeymooners

Ralph, Alice, Ed Norton and Trixie.

Such slapstick humor!

Tarzan

Every kid around the block knew that familiar call of the wild!

I would wrap 2 brown wash clothes around my waist with a belt and pretend to swim in the great

and...you could never forget the great commercials...the ones that would sing for hours in your head!

Remember the cigarette commercials, you have to love this one!

My personal favorite, Mr. Ed.  I loved the way he looked, but now the way he sounded.  I wish he would have had a sexier voice!

Green Acres.  I could never understand why they didn't fix up their house!

I can remember being put to bed, then sneaking out to watch the "Twilight Zone."  The best show ever, I was so scared, I couldn't sleep!

Superman was my all time favorite.  Looking back now, I wonder why he didn't have a better body!

Space Angel that was shown on Captain Kangaroo.

I love the way their mouths moved!

Johnny Quest!  They best cartoon ever!!!

Dark Shadows

My favorite after school program.  Just loved that vampire!

Batman

Now this was a great show.  I even started my own Batman Fan Club.

Bruce Wayne was my true love!

Every Friday night, we three girls went over to our Grandmother Lolly's house.  We went to McDonald's first, then onto Goldblatts to spend the $2.00 she have us!  Then that night, we would settle downstairs in front of the TV set and watch our shows.  Each of us with our seven up and M&M's in hand!

Love American Style

The Partridge Family

Who wasn't in love with David Cassidy and who didn't want to look like Susan Dey?

The Brady Bunch

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia

Fantasy Island, Da Plane, Da Plane!

The Love Boat

Then came the 70's and 80's with the popular night time soap operas.  I was glued to the TV and never missed a show!

I had my hair cut just like Linda Gray!

Falcon Crest

Lorenzo Lamas was every girls heart throb!

Dynasty

The beautiful Linda Evans and the evil Joan Collins
